After three and a half years of development, BlackGold’s technology to convert brown grease and other fats, oils, and greases (FOG) into high-value biodiesel and biobunker fuel is now commercially available. Customers can either purchase a prefabricated, modular FOG-to-Fuel™ processing unit or a design package to build the processing unit themselves. License and engineering packages may also be purchased to retrofit existing biodiesel production facilities.

A successful brown grease project should have reliable supply of at least 500,000 gallons of dewatered FOG per year and a cost-effective disposal option for the water that comes in with crude trap grease. Remember, trap grease is often only about 3% grease, so a project using exclusively trap grease will need to take this concentration into account when calculating grease volumes and water disposal quantities.

Whether you are a treatment plant seeking to transform your greases from a liability to an asset, a large pumper looking to reduce tipping fees and fuel costs, a biodiesel producer seeking low-cost feedstock, or a engineering consultant to the wastewater industry, BlackGold will work with you to determine the optimum owner/operator arrangement and project structure for your specific needs.
